Anna is a certified Speech Language Pathologist and Reading Interventionist. She received an M.A. in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2007. She recently completed the Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator Level training and will take the Associate Level training in November. She has also completed the Lindamood Bell training for Seeing Stars. These trainings are all related to understanding and treating difficulties with reading, spelling, and writing, especially with students with neurobiological differences, such as dyslexia.
Anna worked part-time as a Speech Language Pathologist in Meigs County Schools for 17 years where she diagnosed and treated a variety of speech and language disorders. She is very passionate about helping children communicate effectively, and she is excited to be focusing now on articulation disorders and reading intervention.
Anna and her husband Matt have two children, Brody and Ruby, who attend VCA. They are members of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Niota. In her spare time, Anna enjoys reading, baking, spending time with her family, and planning their next vacation.
Anna says, “Valley Christian Academy has opened their arms to us this year with a ton of love, support, encouragement, and kindness. It’s been the best school year for our children, and also for Matt and I as parents. I’m so thankful God led us to VCA, and I’m thrilled to be joining the faculty that I have come to love and respect. I look forward to serving VCA students and families that can benefit from my services!”
