1st Grade Teacher
Crystal graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She received her master's degree from Walden University in Reading & Language Arts. She taught in the public-school setting for 15 years before leaving to homeschool her own children for the past 9 years.
She has taught 3rd grade, 6th grade, 7th grade, and everything in between. She also tutors children after school hours and has spent the past 20 years educating children in various ways. The majority of her career has been spent in public education, but she has also served as a private tutor, homeschool educator, and private school teacher.
She is married to Mark Sliger who works for the Athens Utility Board and pastors Parkway Baptist Church in Athens. Crystal has 3 children: Garret Plemons, Luke and Lily Sliger. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her family outdoors.
Crystal is enthusiastic, fun, and always the life of the party. We are so thankful to have her as part of our VCA family.
